well here we go....
Hola!!
Thanks for taking a look!!! As you may have noticed we are running this blog to raise funds to re roof houses in the Dominican Republic working with a charity over there called dove missions whom work with families in some of the poorest areas of Pureto Plata. We have been to the Dominican many times and slowly started to leave the hotel grounds to see the real Dominican Republic and the dominican people - this is where we fell more in love in the country (so much so we have moved out of our home and renting a room to save to move there but more of that in future blogs!) We found it so hard to believe that these lovely happy people had such poor housing to the point that if it rains you get wet as your roof has more holes than a sieve!! and people simple should not have to live like this. So we have decided to help and raise funds as roughly £100 will re-roof an entire families home helping maybe 8+ people as many generations all live together. So myself and Matt are going to do the 10k in Glasgow, Scotland the first weekend in September and Matt is doing a half marathon the 3rd weekend of September. Now you maybe thinking hang on shes only doing a 10k but i have never run in my life before and is going to be the hardest thing I've ever done. I will update this as often as i can with training etc but please do excuse me if there not that regular as we work 2 jobs to save to move to the Dominican Republic. In the meantime if you feel like, and are able to your sponsorship would be very much appreciated and will go a long way to improve many peoples lives.
